Rocket Knights: Rise of the Black Knights

While Spike was waiting for the others, a Mother and her two children were walking towards the training grounds and saw Spike was there by himself. It was Julia with the Twins, William and Jillian.

"Oh Hello there! Aren't you the boy from yesterday?"

The Twins saw Spike too and looked over him.

"Hi! I bet Dad invited you for training huh?" William asked

"Daddy is really good at spotting people with potential. Gadget is gonna be a knight too!"

"William, Lillian, lets try not to bother him too much. Although.. I wonder why the others aren't here yet... Perhaps they really did go to see about seeing a Blacksmith on the way.. But I'm sure they'll be here soon."

Julia looked to Spike and smiled "I'm Julia Firestone by the way.. Kaji is my husband, I assume he invited you here."

Spike turned around and saw the Firestone family who were walking up to him. "Oh, hello." Spike said to the family. "Yes, I was the boy from yesterday." He said to answer Julia's question.

After he kept getting interrupted by the twins, he just decided not to get angry and just sighs quietly to himself.

"Yes, he did invite me here." Spike said, answering Julia's second question. "He wrote me a letter yesterday, he did say that I have the potential of being a Rocket Knight... I just had a little accident yesterday." He said with a nervous smile.

Julia smiled and set a blanket on the grass as the Twins decided to ask Spike more questions

"So You made that armor and rocket boots you wore yesterday by yourself?"

"We like to tinker with electronics and stuff too back at home. Daddy brings us all kinds of neat stuff from his adventures."

"Yeah, but the coolest thing he's ever brought home was a new friend! Gadget is so cool, she's really smart, she even tinkers like we do!"

"Will! Don't refer to people as "things".." Julia scolded.

"hehe... Sorry Mom.."

The Twins sat down on the blanket with their mother.

"You may sit with us if you'd like um... I'm so sorry.. I don't believe we've learned your name yet."

"Thanks, babe. What would we do without you?"

"Yeah, thanks, Mom!"

They then continued down the path to the blacksmith's shop.

After Stella had left, Mr. Saturn cleaned up the dinner table, and was now checking on his spaceship. He noticed that the engine was completely destroyed, and that he would also need:

• 5 metal plates
  
• A new motherboard
  
• An antenna
  
• A computer screen
  
• New glass for the three windows

Back to Spike and the family, as the twins keep asking the hedgehog questions, he was getting a little bit madder being not able to answer all of their questions without getting interrupted.

When Julia offered a seat to Spike and asked for his name, he just quietly sighed and tried to contain his irritation as he sat down. "I'm Spike Thornson." The hedgehog said after he sat down, but still contained his irritation. "And you must be his family, I assume?"

Julia gave a motherly smile towards Spike. "Yes, we are, and it's very nice to meet you Spike. How are you feeling..?" Julia was referring to the injuries Spike would have received from the accident.

Stella had walked back to the house and sat down for a breather. She looked over to Mr. Saturn and noticed the list he was writing.

"what's this?" She asked the little pink alien.

The trio finally arrived at the blacksmith. Before going in, they stopped for a moment.

"Alright, this guy may be a little strange, but I want you two to be on your best behavior, alright?"

"OK, dad."

They then stepped inside. Lucas squealed in delight at the sight of the blacksmith.

"EEE! He's so chubby! So cute!", he said, running over and hugging him, burying his face in the blacksmith's chest.

Sparkster facepalms.

Kaji and Kohaku saw Sparkster and his two sons walk into Anvil's shop and Kohaku chuckled a little at Lucas' child-like display. of course, he was still only a teenager after all. Kohaku picked out her sword, it was similar to Kaji's but still had it's own characteristics. For one it was not as broad and was fairly light. She took the time to examine it further as she could tell that there were certain things she would need to know about it to use it properly.

"Hello little friend." She said, seemingly talking to the sword. "You shall be my trusty blade from now on."

Kohaku brought the sword to Kaji, who also examined it. "Not a bad choice Gadget. It's not too heavy or anything?"

"It's about as heavy as I would expect a sword that size to be." Kohaku replied.

"We'll get this one then.. um..." Kaji just noticing that Lucas was hugging Anvil and acting a fool. "Sparkster sir.. If he faints..." Kaji didn't need to say anymore, Sparkster knew full well.

In a way Anvil was relieved about the sudden hug attack. He has always dreamt about becoming a Rocket Knight, but he simply was to shy to ask, nor did he think we was qualified for it.
Anyhow he giggled at the sudden hug and lifted Lucas up onto his shoulders, "There you go."
He seemed to be much more relaxed, now and looked over around if his customers needed something. The place clearly wasn't meant for that many people and was rather crowded. He spotted, Sparkster and addressed him, "Your armor is ready, sir.", directing him to the place the armor was already on display.

Kaji was relieved to see that Anvil was more relaxed He looked back at what he could assume was Anvil's personal armor. He then looked to Anvil

"When we're all done here, how would you like to come with us to train? You don't need to have armor today since we will be practicing basic combat."

"Yeah, the more the marrier!" Kohaku said, trying to encourage Anvil to say yes.

Anvil looks around, becoming more nervous again. "Who? Me?", he asked nervously. "I'm not sure if I'm up for this, and... I've got work to do and all, and....", he searched for excuses, somehow hoping he'd be just dragged along.

"Whee! Thanks for the ride, mister! And the armor, too!, Lucas said while jumping off.

"Yes, thanks.", Sparkster said while handing Anvil some money. "We could really use a big, strapping guy like you in the force.", he added.

Lucas could sense Anvil's shyness, so he took Anvil by the hand, and used his telepathy to "speak" to him.

"Come on, don't be shy. I know you'll be great, I just know it! What do you say?"

"Well, if you insist...", said Anvil, before disappearing in the back room where his armor was spotted, a few moments later he came back fully dressed in his armor, looking considerably more proud.

"Wow, you look amazing!"

"I knew you would look great!"

Lucas then put on his new armor. He looked like a smaller version of Sparkster.

"Oh, Daddy, it's perfect! Thank you!", Lucas gushed, glomping Sparkster.

"OOF! Well, don't thank me, thank Anvil!", Sparkster replied.

"Yay! Thanks Anvil! You're the best blacksmith ever!", Lucas cheered, glomping Anvil. "Come on, Booster! Put your armor on! You too, Kohaku!", he said.

"You looks awesome Bro! You too Anvil!" Booster said with a grin. "I'll try mine on too!"

Booster went into the changing room, and later came out in a Crimson Armor, but still a similar model of Sparkster's

"How do I look?"

"You all look fantastic!" Kaji said. "Sadly, we only just commissioned Anvil for Kohaku's Armor, her's won't be busy."

"It's alright. After all Master Kaji said we're just doing the basics of combat."

"Gadget here is right about that." Kaji said "Lets be off now. She has a sword, and that is enough for today."

"That's a pity... Shall we all get going then?"

"Yes, let us all head out there. I do believe we have another waiting for us"

Kaji and Kohaku led the way out of the Blacksmith shop, allowing the others to follow.
