Rocket Knights: Rise of the Black Knights

"The Rocket Knights are knights with electrified weapons and rocket packs. Sparkster is the best Rocket Knight ever!"

"Aww, come on, am I really that great?" *blushing*

"Well, you did save Elhorn 4 times. That's a hero if I ever heard of one."

"That sounds like an incredible feat to me as well." Kohaku commented. "Mr. Kaji..? You are a Rocket Knight too yes..?"

"Yep.. and it was Sparkster here who initially trained me. We've been good friends ever since."

"I dunno about being a Knight myself.. but I definitely want to be an Engineer for the Rocket Knights one day." Said young William

"Yeah! Me too!" Lillian said cheerfully.

Kohaku was very intrigued by all of this.. Rocket Knights... using technology for good, and protecting the people... To her, it had a very nice ring to it.. especially after the things she had experienced today... Kohaku pondered to herself for a moment.. then it hit her.. She knew how she could finally repay Kaji and everyone else who had been so kind to her since she first arrived.

"Sir Kaji... Can you perhaps... train me in the ways of a Rocket Knight...?"

Everyone looked at her, surprised by her request.

"Kohaku...? Are you sure about this..? Being a Rocket Knight is dangerous work."

"I want to be able to repay you all for your kindness one day... and I truly believe that this is my calling... I made it to this island for a reason Kaji... My being here.. it's more than just mere coincidence... It was fate!"

"Kohaku...."

".. I think she can do it Daddy! You saw her today, She saved that boy's life today."

"Yeah! Who knows what could have happened to that Hedgehog Boy if Kohaku hadn't reacted to the situation..?"

Kaji looked to his children who seemed positive, that Kohaku could really pull it off.. He then looked to Kohaku currently had that look of determination in her eyes. He somehow felt the same as her, that maybe she truly had purpose in being a Rocket Knight.. She was smart, Brave when she needed to be, and was very quick on her feet. After considering all of this, he looked to Sparkster.

"what do you think Captain? I have seen her bravery in action today... Twice, since I brought her to town.. I think she'd make a great addition to the Acadamy."

"Pleaaaaaaaase Uncle Sparkster? Give her a chance?" Said the Twins giving Sparkster puppy eyes.

Everyone looked to Sparkster, especially Kohaku, who still wore that same determined expression.

"Hmm... very well. You can start tomorrow."

As everyone cheered, Mr. Saturn suddenly interrupted.

"hEy, kiTTy lAdy aND lITTle kIds g00d wItH maCHiNes? y0U HelP mE fIX fLYinG tHIng? sAY yES t0 mE? saY n0 t0 mE?"

"Thank you so much Sparkster, you won't regret it!" Kohaku said happily.

The Twins then looked to Mr. Saturn and grinned.

"How'd you know that?" Asked the Twins in Unison. "You have something that needs to be fixed?"

"A Space Ship...? I don't know if you two are ready for that sort of thing."

"Oh C'mon Mommy! We can at least try, I'm sure Mr. Saturn knows enough about his space ship to give us some guidance" Lillian explained.

"Besides, I don't think Mr. Saturn could do it quickly on his own.. On account that he does have any arms... No offense little guy." William scratched his head.

"I could give it a try too when I have the time, being that I start my training tomorrow."

Kaji looked out the Window and saw that it was starting to get go into sunset hours.

"We should get going soon.. The Twins have school in the morning, and Kohaku and I have some more errands to run.."

"Errands..?" Kohaku asked "What kind of errands?"

"If you are going to be a Rocket Knight.. We need to work on getting you equipped with proper gear."

With all of that said, Kohaku, and the Firestone Family gave the Sanjulos thanks for their hospitality.

"Thank you for inviting us over for dinner Sir. Perhaps one of these days we will return the favor." Kaji said with a polite bowing gesture.

"We'll try to come by later to help out with Mr.Saturn's Space Ship. Probably after School if our parents allow it." Said the Twins

"It was nice having you all over." Said Stella "And it was very nice meeting you too Miss Kohaku, and good luck with your training."

"Thank you, it was nice meeting all of you as well... OH!"

"What is it Kohaku?"

"We should go see how that Boy from this afternoon is doing."

"Alright then.. We better get a move on then.. We'll see you around Sparkster."

"Byyye!" They all said, waving good-bye as they walked away from the house.

"Bye! See you tomorrow!"

After the guests had left, Sparkster said, "Whew. That was great. I sure hope Kohaku is as great as Kaji claims."

"Aw, c'mon. I think she'll be great. It should be fun practicing with her. Anyway, lets all go clean up the kitchen."

Meanwhile in the middle of the fields, the half-body quill'd hedgehog was just beginning to wake up from being knocked out from the accident and he was groaning from pain of his ever bumping headache. "Oy... My head..." He groaned out in discomfort as his vision just started to come back to him.

"Nnngh... What happened last night..?" He asked as he looked around and checked out his surroundings, he then figures out that he was in his bed. He just continued to check out his surroundings until he sees the broken, dirty, and blown up piece of junk that used to be his invention.

"Oh... Right..." He said in a very angered, disapproved tone as he just crossed his arms and just stared at the piece of junk. "Why can't I just make a simple Rocket Knight armor?? This has been the tenth time this happened! All of my attempts have blown up at me like an early firework..!" He just continues to rant for minutes on end, but he didn't know that his brother was listening to his words through the door as his voice was very loud and made Spike's brother concerned.

Some time later, after Kaji's Wife and children were back at the house, Kohaku and Kaji made their way back to the scene where the incident from before had taken place.. By the Shoe shop. Kohaku looked down and saw that of course the Boy was no longer there, which was to be expected, she then tried to think of where he might be now.

"Well... he either got up and walked home after we left, or someone took him to a clinic.." She said.

"I recall the Cobbler saying that he had a brother... Perhaps The boy is his brother... It's still open.. We could go and ask.."

"Alright then.."

The two of them entered the shoe store, it had all been cleaned up from the wreck that Kohaku had made before. Kohaku was the first to walk up to the Cobbler's counter up front.

"Hellooo? Is anyone here...? We wanted to come by and make sure your brother was okay."

Then the Cobbler just came from another room and he just looks at the two and just sighed in disappointment.

"Yeah, he's fine..." He said, looking at the ground for a little bit and then back at the two. "He's always getting himself in crazy situations with his crazy inventions."

"I'm glad he is alright.." Said Kaji "I can tell that young man seems to have a thing for rockets."

Gadget looked to the Cobbler and smiled as a sign of relief "I'm glad that he didn't get hurt too bad.. I was worried I might have hurt him real bad trying to get him to the ground."

"Oy, tell me about it..." The hedgehog said as he looked at the door he just walked out of and just sighed. "He always dreamed of becoming a hero like his idol. He honestly tried from time to time and he still failed miserably... Then he just rants and rants about how his latest "inventions" has failed him."

"Sometimes, I'm worried that his own wild and crazy ambitions will get himself killed." He said when he looked at the two again. "I'm his brother and I know I should respect his dream, but I say he should've given up a long time ago..."

"From what you've said.. I feel that he has the potential to be a rocket knight.. I saw it in this one today as well as she put herself in danger trying to save your brother." Kaji gestured to Kohaku. "Would it be alright if I spoke with the boy..? At the very least I can give him some pointers on how to make a safer rocket."

The hedgehog just hesitated for a moment on end. A couple of thoughts ran through his head, stuff like "What? I couldn't put him in any more danger!" and "Are you crazy!? My brother's crazy dream will get himself killed!". He just looked at the two for a few more seconds and then he just shook his head and he began to speak.

"I can't allow this." He said with a worried tone. "He's resting right now..."

"I see... Well, I would like to give him a chance to follow his dream. If he truly wishes it, We begin training for new trainees tomorrow morning. He is more than welcome join us. We'll be working on basic combat skills."

"But Kaji...? Shouldn't he take some time to recover..?" Kohaku asked Kaji "I'm just saying that he might have been hurt..."

"You do have a point there... But from a crash like that, he couldn't have received more than bruises and scratches. But in the end it is up to him. When he is awake, will you let him know He is invited, and that he can meet us at the Fields?"

Kaji looked to the Brother with a look of sincerity and understanding. He knew that he would look out for his brother's safety and interests.

The hedgehog just looked ay Kaji again and within a couple of seconds later, he just nods and he opens up the table, letting the two rockets knight in and they were now at the same place the hedgehog was as he opens the door that connects to their own abode. (IDK what it's called, but when you're behind a desk and you open the little door that lets people go behind the counter?)

Kaji and Kohaku follow the Hedgehog into his abode, and then get a good look around in the living room. Kaji felt happy that The Hedgehog heard him out, or so it seemed to him at least, Kohaku was just glad that she hadn't seriously injured his brother. Kohaku looked the the hedgehog.

"Are you allowing us to see him? If so, can we see him now? I really would like to apologize to him personally."
