Rocket Knights: Rise of the Black Knights

As the Sun raises, the morning rays hit Booster's face and he wakes up. He goes over to Luca's bunk and shakes him gently to wake him up.

"Hey bro! Time to wake up man, the sun's up." Then he went to get ready for the day.

Stella was already up bright and early as well, and was making breakfast for her boys.

"Good morning~" She said.

Kohaku was just waking up as well, and she was getting ready for a day of training, She put on her older clothes, so that the clothes Julia had so kindly lent to her wouldn't get ruined.

Kohaku then went downstairs to see at Kaji was already awake, and Julia had made breakfast for them.

"Good morning there Gadget." Julia greeted Kohaku with a smile. "I hope you like Eggs and Bacon."

Kohaku sniffs the air, picking up the aroma and sat down. "It's smells great, looks good too." She said with a smile as she started to eat.

"Ready to head out and start training?" Kaji asked.

"Yeah!"

"Good to hear! After you're done eating we'll stop by the blacksmith's on the way to the training grounds. Until you get your own armor and sword, I'm going to let you borrow some of the gear I used when I was your age. I made sure it's clean for ya." Kaji pointed out a suit of grey armor and a sword.

"Wow... That looks cool! Thanks master Kaji!"

Later, Kohaku was done with breakfast and thanked Julia for the breakfast. Then she took the armor, though a bit heavy in her arms, and carried it up to her room to try it on. With a little help from Julia, she was able to get it on, and then she met with Kaji outside. and from there, they headed back to the Blacksmith's.

Once there, Kohaku and Kaji walked in, sounding the chime of the door bell in the process. they once again looked around for the blacksmith. He wasn't where they left him, so he must have woken up after they left the night before.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" Kohaku spoke loudly so she would be heard.

Anvil came in from the back rooms, a bit more relaxed than yesterday. "How can I help you? Say, haven't I seen you before" He suddenly remimbered, and near studdered "Ohh... sorry about yesterday, it's.... complicated." Seeing he wasn't blamed he re-gained his posture and asked, "So... how can I be of service?".

Kaji and Kohaku stepped forward towards Anvil, and grinned.

"Hello, I am Sir Kaji Firestone, and my young feline friend here is in need of her own armor and a sword." Kaji said as he nudged Kohaku in front of him.

"Hi! I'm Kohaku, but you can call me Gadget if you'd like." She said smiling sweetly, excited to see another who didn't mind having a cat in his presence.

"We are kind of in a hurry, so we might come by later if you need to get any measurements. We are starting to train new recruits for the Rocket Knights today." Kaji explained.

Lucas got up, did some stretches, got dressed, and went to the master bedroom. Sparkster was still asleep, snoring peacefully. Lucas sneaked up to the bed, and pounced on him, jolting him awake.

"Agh! Don't do that, Stella, I'm still sore down there from-"

"From what?", asked Lucas innocently.

Sparkster got a deer-in-the-headlights look on his face. "Oh, Lucas... It's... uh... n-nothing. Just a cramp.", Sparkster stammered. Lucas looked down and saw his father's bare chest. He then read Sparkster's mind and was shocked at the mental picture. "Ugh. No hiding from a psychic, huh?

"What were you...?, Lucas murmured.

Sparkster sighed and said, "It was just something that couples do when they love each other a lot. I'll tell you more when you're older. Now get out so I can get dressed. I'll meet you downstairs for breakfast. Oh, and don't tell anybody about what you saw."

Stella was already down-stairs making breakfast for the boys and her husband humming a tune as she made everyone's plates. Booster was also dressed in some clothes that he could afford to get roughed up in. He washed his hands and helped his mother with setting the table.

"Good Morning Mother." Booster said with a smile.

"did you boys sleep well last night?" Stella asked.

"Yeah, Breakfast looks great! as always." said Booster.

"I made the household favorite, Apple Cinnamon Pancakes with Scrambled eggs, and for the meats I have made bacon AND Sausage." (We'll assume there are different kinds of pigs that act as live-stock)

"Awesome! Thanks Mom."

Stella looked to her eldest son and smiled. "Would you mind getting your Brother and Father?"

"Not at all~!" runs half-way up the stairs "Daaaad! Lucaaas! Mom's got breakfast ready!"

"Uh-oh, time to get to breakfast. Remember what I said, alright?"

"O-ok..."

Lucas left the room so Sparkster could get dressed. He went downstairs to the dinner table and sat down without even greeting Stella and Booster. He had a slightly distraught look on his face, but tried to hide it with a weak smile.

Stella looked at young Lucas and smiled.

"Well good morning Lucas. Did you sleep well last night?" She asked.

Booster saw his brother's face and seemed a bit confused. "You okay Bro?"

Meanwhile Kohaku and Kaji were away.. (They're still at the Anvil's.) Julia was getting the Twins ready for the day. There was no school that day or anything, but the Twins wanted to go see what Kaji and Kohaku were up to.

"So where did Dad and Gadget go Mom?" William asked
"Silly Willy, Don't you remember? Gadget starts her Rocket Knight training today!" Lillian replied.
"Oh yeah! Mom can we go and watch?"

"Well I dunno..." Julia then looked to her children, and almost fell over as bother of them were standing shoulder to shoulder, with big eyes staring into her's and their hands together as if they were begging to go.

"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase?" The Twin begged together.

Julia chuckled a little bit. "Yes my little darlings, we can go watch, but at a safe distance. and you need to stay out of their way."

"Yes Mom!"

"Now go wash up and be ready to go soon."

Without another word the Twins ran up to the wash room to wash their hands and faces, and then brush their teeth, after having eaten their breakfast. Then met with their mother by the front door.

"Ready!"

"Okay Kids, lets go." As she seemed to pack some things into a huge quilt. possibly for a picnic lunch later. They then started their trek towards the training grounds. but little did they know, someone was watching from the dark allies and the roof tops.

It was the group of wolves which targeted Kohaku the night before. They had seen Kohaku with these opossums the other day while spying, and figured that this was Kaji's family, as they saw him with them as well. like master ninjas, they followed the family in the shadows, and where ever they could not be easily seen.

"Huh!? Oh, good morning, Mom! Morning, Booster! It's nothing, just a bad dream! Hehehe..."

Just then, Mr. Saturn came downstairs with Sparkster.

"Good morning, Booster! How's my champ doin' today?"

"Good morning, Stella.", he said, kissing her on the cheek.

"m0RninG m0RninG. hEar sTrAngE N0iSeS lASt niGht, B0ING! tHEre gh0STs hEre, z00m?", Mr. Saturn asked. Sparkster and Lucas got awkward looks on their faces.

Stella gave Lucas a soft kiss on the forehead and smiled. "I'm sorry darling, why don't you have a seat and have some breakfast?"

Stella of course didn't realized what exactly Lucas' nightmare was.

"Good morning Dad" Booster said to Sparkster. "Just sitting eating breaky real quick, then get ready to go train."

"Good morning Dear~" Stella kissed Sparkster back. "Are you hungry?"

Stella then heard Mr.Saturn and blushed.

"Uh...well...yes, I am very hungry. Oh, my favorite, too! Boys, as soon as we eat, we need to go to the blacksmith to pick up the armor and swords I ordered for you."

"Awesome! I can't wait!"

"You ordered armor already? That was quick." Booster noted. "I can't wait to see what they look like that!"

Stella smiled at the excitement her two sons displayed She then sat down at the table with her family to have breakfast with them. After Breakfast, Booster helped his mother clear the table.

"Booster dear, you should be getting ready to leave." said Stella. "Don't mind this, I'll take care of it today. You boys go on and have fun today."

"Okay mom." Booster said as he grabbed a jacket and his boots to put them on.

Lucas and Sparkster went and brushed their teeth, put jackets and shoes on, and after getting kisses goodbye from Stella, left for the blacksmith's shop with Booster.

Once they had left, Mr. Saturn said, "s0, B0ING, I hElP y0u aR0unD h0Use fR0m n0w on, dak0ta?"

"If you'd excuse me please", Anvil said as he was fetching a box from a back room. He walked to the counter, cleaned it off a bit and opened the box. Inside of it there were lots of sketches, little models and. He proudly spread it out over the counter, "So what exactly are you looking for?"

Kaji and Kohaku looked over the sketches and Models although Kohaku seemed to be STUDYING them more than simply glancing at them. She was fascinated by the design and how practical they all seemed to be.

After Kaji got a good look at what Anvil had to offer, he grinned and pointed to the model and it's associated sketches. It was a lighter model but it still covered a decent amount of the upper and lower torso, though it didn't have shoulder pads or Metal gauntlets or Boots to go with it.

"How about this one Gadget? It's a light frame and the Boots and Gauntlets are simple, but it will allow you to maintain your mobility."

Kohaku looked at the model Kaji was referring to and smiled.

"If you say it is best suited for me, then I think it's perfect. After all, what good is a Feline like me if I can't be agile?"

"Alright then, can you forge a suit like this one for her?" Kaji looked to Kohaku "Gadget, feel free to look around and try out some of the swords available in the shop, if you can find one with a socket at the end of the hilt, that would be best."

"Yes Master Kaji." Kohaku started to walk around the shop and examined the swords Anvil had already completed.

Kaji looked up and saw two suits of Armor that were already done, and looked similar to Sparkster's. He assumed that Sparkster had already commissioned this same blacksmith earlier than he had. Sparkster was pretty good at thinking ahead sometimes.

But something else also caught his attention. A cabinet in the corner which was semi-open. He curiously walked over to it and opened it a bit wider. Inside was a black and Silver suit of Armor, which had what seemed like cooling vents built into it.

"hmm.. Fascinating! Kaji said as he looked to Anvil. "This one looks like it was built for someone with your build.. Have you ever thought of being a Knight yourself?

Stella looked to Mr.Saturn and smiled. "Of course! If you wouldn't mind that is I'll get the Dishes if you can clean up the table for me."

Stella then looked at the counter and saw three packed lunches on it..

"Eep! I forgot to give the Boys their Lunch!" With that she grabbed the lunch Boxes and chased after them "Sparkster!! Boys!! You forgot your lunches!!"

Booster heard his mother as she managed to catch up to them. "Mom? what's the matter?"

Stella held up the packed lunches and handed them to Booster. "You.. forgot to take these with you..." She said panting.

"Oops, Sorry that you had to run up this way to bring them to us Mom.." Booster said

"It's alright.. Whooo.. I think I had my work out for the day.. You boys be careful alright?"

"Yes Ma'am" Booster took the Lunches "We'll be fine. We've got Dad with us afterall."

Meanwhile in the shoe shop, Spike was just getting ready as he raced out the door.

"I'm late! I'm late!" He muffled out as he runs out the door with an apple in his mouth, while he was getting his shoes on with one hand and is holding his rockets under his free arm.

"Spike, hold on!" His brother yelled out as he too ran out the door and stopped to shout. "You forgot your tools!"

"I won't need them!" Spike yelled back as he just races to the location to where the knights were.

"Oy, brother..." The brother of the hedgehog said. "What are you going to do without me...?" He just goes back inside the shop and then he just flips the sign so it said "Open".

Now, Spike was in his street attire, which included your average Joe look (Considering his rank sense he is still a nave), the only thing different about it was that he was wearing a nice pair of brown shoes that have been used, but still has that new look to them.

So anyway, some time later, he made it to the fields and he sets his items down. Also, yes he had his shoes on. Then he takes out the letter from his pocket and he reads it to himself.

"Ok, it says in the letter that I should meet them Zebulan Fields..." Spike said as he read the letter. "Maybe I'm wrong and I must've been early or something..." He stuffs the letter back into his pocket. "I guess I'll have to wait for a bit before I can actually train with this Kaji."

It may not feel like it, but Spike was pretty excited! Finally, a golden opportunity to follow in the foot steps of his idol, Sparkster. He was only afraid because he was late.
