Because even though there is a thread for general music I'd like to know what you are "jamming" to outside of the "normal music world". Let's talk about... Videogames and Cartoons/Anime!
We know that Videogames have been going through insane improvement in music over the years and, let's face it, it hits the ears more commonly nowadays than any other music, and even Cartoon/Anime shows have some awesome tracks - from oldschool to todays generation.
So I thought "give it its own thread" and here ya'll go!
You know, there is a time where Videogames hit a certain point. A point that I call "Is this really supposed to be a song for a Videogame or for a Movie that never will happen?". Rarely I'm touched by songs, but there are a total of 3 specific songs that give me the chills and, at some points, nearly drive me to tears. If it's not about the Story itself that makes you cry it is about the sympathy you evolve for the Characters and how they suffer so much loss and pain just to help those they love and care about. You know THAT type of moment and we all experienced this moment in a lot of games, but of course everyone is different when it goes into the "touchy touchy heart breaking" sort of route.
I have 3 songs that do make me kind of feel touched whenever I hear them, and those are...
I am a huge fan of the "The Legend of Spyro" Trilogy and, by all the mixed reactions I first had about the "reboot" of the Franchise I... was highly impressed. From the first game to the last. When I heard this song I was asking myself if this was supposed to be used in the sadly cancelled Legend of Spyro Movie and threw it into the game so it won't get wasted. I was literally speechless and touched. Though the trilogy isn't the typical Spyro Gameplay we all grew up with they're still sort of masterpieces in their own way, especially if you like RPGs. I was so impressed that I played the games on German Language first only to fall in love with the original English Version even more.

Xenoblade Chronicles, or simply Xenoblade in Japan. A wonderful and big RPG with an Open World too big to remember where the hell you already went to and where you easily can get lost if you have no sense of direction. There's actually nothing I can really say about the game itself since I haven't got a copy of it for the Wii, but I will get my hands on the 3Ds Remake of this game. The Music is just astounding and the story itself, from what I've read so far, is also very interesting. I don't want to spoil myself too much, but I do heard the Original Soundtrack of it which was composed by great composers like Yoko Shimomura or ACE+. This Ending Song is as much as a "right in your emotions" kicker than "Guide You Home" is, I don't need to say anything anymore about it.

Solatorobo: Red the Hunter is one of the unique yet interesting DS Gems that was released in 2011. I don't want to spoil anything since this is, you guessed it, another RPG game. Man I'm running into a lot of RPG games in this post already... Damn you RPG-Gamer-Syndrome! On a side note: Solatorobo is the spiritual sequel to a game called Tail Concerto. The Character Concepts of both games were provided by Nobuteru Yuki and the music was composed by Chikayo Fukuda. In this game you fall into the role of a young anthropomorph dog called Red Savarin who falls into a lot of interesting places when he met a young cat girl called Elh. As much as I know there are certain special missions you can get Online but I'm not sure if they're still available anymore. To sum the whole song up (since it is entirely on Japanese and probably not many people don't understand this language let alone have played this game) it is more or less about the feelings Elh has for Red and vice-versa, and it is kind of obvious if you play through the game. It sounds cheesy if you understand the lyric of the song (either if you understand Japanese or by searching for a translation in the internet), but the performance and the clean voice of Tomoyo Mitani makes it into one of the greatest Nintendo DS Ending Themes I've ever heard, especially since the quality of this song is 1 to 1 identical with the CD Version. A wonderful song for an underrated DS game.
