~Positive/Negative Behaviors:
+ Optimistic, open-hearted, patient, honest
- Bad sense of humor, appears to be sadistic, clumsy at times, very childish
~Personality:
Core is sort of the 'complete opposite' of Burst.
While the green haired youngster is loyal and respectful as much as Burst is he has the bad behavior to let his 'inner child' appear more than his actual mature self. He's a big optimist, he likes to make new friends and always carries a big smile in his face to show how much he enjoys life, but he can be very serious if someone tries to hurt his brother.
He isn't really a tidy type, he hates to do chores and can be a ditz at times - one might think it's just a 'set-up' so he doesn't need to move a single finger but it's just half true. Indeed he lives after his philosophy "my organization style is called chaos", means that he leaves behind everything the way it was and is scarily accurate to find everything within a brief moment. It comes in handy for Burst but.. he rather stays with real organization than 'chaos'.
Another awkward treat is his 'humor'. There are times he can make good jokes and there are times he makes bad jokes, but no matter what it is Burst is always able to laugh about it, especially when he's in bad mood. There's just one little... something that leaves everyone kind of puzzled... his commentaries. Having a big smile in his face and talking about billions of ways how to hide a corpse or what to do with a corpse surely seems sickly sadistic... but he would never touch a corpse - not with his bare hands and not with his magic. For him these are just silly commentaries, nothing to be afraid of - this alone worries Burst even more.
~Fighting Style:
Since Core is a mage there's nothing really to tell about his fighting style. He relies on his brother's back-up when he's casting a spell that needs more time to be unleashed and is even able to control each kind of element on top of that. He might be some sort of overpowered young warlock but he isn't. If he would be he wouldn't need any sort of back-up and could release one devastating spell after another.
If Burst is too busy Core uses his Kendama or Gun blade to keep his enemies away which sadly costs his concentration to cast a spell.
~Story:
Burst and Core were born far outside of Zephyrus and had a very normal life. Their parents were farmers and it seemed like that everything was in perfect harmony, they didn't had any enemies or close friends as they mostly stood out of Kingdom Zephyrus - they disliked the politics and Royal Family which was the reason why they moved out of the Kingdom, giving them the freedom they wanted to have.
In deep winter season their life changed when it was revealed that their father was a gambler who owed some people a lot of money. He tried to escape with his wife and sons through a secret passage way he installed within their house as some sort of exit if the house should catch fire but was caught; his wife was able to escape with Burst and Core but got badly injured nonetheless. They never saw their father ever again.
Not knowing where to go to they were wandering around aimlessly till dawn - it was out of question that she would go back to Zephyrus just to know that her children will end up in a house full of other orphans, but maybe it was the safest choice for her sons to survive the hard winter. No, her distrust was too deep and there was no time to turn back, she knew that she wouldn't have enough strength to do so anyway and yet she realized that she was selfish when it came down to her children.
After a few more hours of wandering she finally broke down, she had no energy left to stand up and carry on; she knew she was done for. Regrets came up thinking about the twins; they would die within the cold, no survival instincts because of their young age and not being able to find any food. Sooner or later the harsh winter will freeze them to death - they could have been save in Kingdom Zephyrus at the very end. It was a sign of the Zephyrian Gods for her when a swordsman came across their path, she didn't knew who he was but she could tell that he was an Zephyrian warrior.
Hopes broke when he said that he has no time or interest playing babysitter even though he saw that she was close to death - it wasn't his business and it was her own fault being foolish enough not to go to Zephyrus. He was as cold with his emotions and words as much as the icy wind and the never ending falling snow. It appeared like he had no heart. She didn't accepted his decline, pleaded with tears in her eyes to at least bring them to the entrance of Kingdom Zephyrus so they can be saved and that she realized that she was at fault for this situation. She knew she couldn't reward him at all and the reason behind his decline was the lack of payment, but if he had at least a bit of honor and pity left within his cold heart he would give those two a chance to survive since common sense and helping those in need always beats the wanting of money. Silence occurred until he gave in and promised to bring them to Zephyrus. He hesitated to reveal his name when she asked for it; she didn't want to forget the one who takes care of her sons. It was surprising that she didn't knew who Axel Gear was but it didn't mattered anymore, she took her last breath before she was able to reveal her name to the Black Knight.
Since that day Burst and Core were traveling alongside Axel Gear. Though he promised her to bring them to Zephyrus for safety... he didn't. He couldn't bring them to Zephyrus without getting attacked by Kingdom Zephyrus as well and the young opossums were already in bad shape, nearly traumatized by the loss of their parents. All that was left for him was to take them along or to let them die. They were afraid, not sure what to do or where to go, they didn't knew about any relatives - they only knew that their parents died and that this stranger promised their mother to bring them to a save place which he wasn't doing at all. He wasn't very trustworthy.
The travels were mostly a mess. Curiosity caught the twins way too often; everything the Black Knight planned was slowing down in ease. There was no single minute for him left where he was able to get a job done without fearing those two do something stupid behind his back. It didn't took a few months until he snapped and told them that he will leave them behind if they don't stop giving him more troubles than needed - this was the moment where Burst reminded him about the promise he gave their mother before she died. Could it be? They were about 5 years old and this little brat understood the meaning of a promise between adults? Axel was caught off-guard. He didn't really knew how to react. Maybe the boy just learned to keep promises like every parent would teach their kids, but they didn't knew how harsh reality really was, but it brought back a bit of common sense within the Black Knight and he told them that he can't gain any money for them when they're always causing trouble for him or those that need to take care of them while he's taking care of his job. Interestingly it went smoother for him after he told them that they're just hindering their life rather than doing anything productive with their little tornado-behavior.
5 years later Axel decided to train them to become knights, the times of babysitting were over and he knew that they would have it way more easier to gain money for a living when he gets a little back-up - he was the one who took care of the money and twerps after all so they were able to experience a good childhood before the hard reality hits them right in the face... but even there they gave him harsh times. By that time Burst and Core made even clearer that they're non-identical twins, both tried to be better than the other one by searching for their own ways and techniques. It was more a 'brother vs. brother' rather than a 'brothers vs. anyone else' relationship that was boiling up. Burst wants Core to fight with two swords but Core doesn't care for weapons; he's more interested within magic since its way more fun playing with elements. Burst always wants to be in charge while Core was seemingly amused by his brother's hard effort to look like a 'leader'. Axel knew that it can be a fatal flaw between them once they're old enough to travel together all by their own, the only solution that was left for him was to train them in the ways they wanted to be trained, but he had absolutely no real clue how to teach magic without a spell book.
Years after years were passing by. The Black Knight managed to give both of them some common sense, decreasing his doubts that those two will run into heavy arguments once they'll travel together without the need of his help. While Burst was indeed a talent in usage of twin blades and building up strategies Core showed a lot of passion for magic - just like he always said he had. They took a rest within a hotel in a Kingdom called Düsterschrei, totally populated by bats. Nonetheless this Kingdom was very open-hearted towards strangers; they even allowed other races to live there in peace and harmony. It was the right place for Core to learn everything about magic without fearing they might try to murder them for being opossums but Axel wasn't very pleased with the idea staying in this Kingdom until the green haired opossum was able to control everything he wanted to learn - instead he allowed him to buy some of the books he wanted to have so he can learn while traveling.
The last Kingdom they visited was populated by Panda's that was... interesting to say the least. There Core found his 'ultimate weapon' which is actually a toy for children and even adults which is called 'Kendama'. Both Burst and Axel weren't sure if this is the right thing to use as a weapon, they didn't believed that the ball was heavy enough to break one's skull until the green haired opossum was letting go of this 'toy' only to see a small crack on the floor - which Axel needed to pay for after Core bought his weapon of choice.
Their current position is unknown - they're still traveling around Elhorn.
~Relationship/s:
- Family (Burst):
Twin brother and most trusted person besides of Axel Gear. Core cares as much about Burst as Burst cares much about Core - there's no way anything could break them apart, not even the heaviest arguments in the universe. While he knows that his brother is worried about his sadistically commentaries he doesn't show much seriousness about it - in fact he's the one who's more worried about Burst's hot temper when Axel is involved in any sort of conversation... especially the not-so-nice-and-true-ones.
- Axel Gear:
Like his twin brother Core shows high respect and loyalty towards the one who more or less 'adopted' them. While Burst is very affectionate toward their savior Core is the one who doesn't entirely rely on him - he knows that sooner or later their ways will separate, forcefully or by own decision is none of his interest. He's the one who needs to hold his twin brother back once he snaps and tries to fight against those that spread lies around their 'foster father' within Elhorn.
Nonetheless he treats Axel like his 'father' though the young opossum knows that he is the one who makes the Black Knight nearly insane with his clumsy or too optimistic behavior, or with his awkward way to proof that his Kendama is heavy enough to be used as a weapon. Core never made it easy for Axel - he loved to follow his curiosity, affecting Burst who joined the 'party' so both ran away countless times when they were still little kids. And the havoc they left behind when someone else needed to take care of them when Axel was busy with his job as Black Knight? It was his fault as well.
Though giving their 'foster father' a ton of extra work Core knows that Axel has evolved a little soft spot for them and treats them like his own sons - he just hates to show or to admit it.
- Sparkster:
Though they never personally met Core doesn't seem to have any problems with the leader of Rocket Knights.
Both twins don't really know how to react or how to treat the 'half-brother' of their leader - they don't really have a deep grudge against him like some might think they would since they were raised by the blond opossum's 'nemesis'. Even so they're not allowed to fight against the leader of Rocket Knights should they cross paths with him, they wouldn't stand a chance and it's a personal 'war' between the leader of Black Knights and the leader of Rocket Knights.
