~Positive/Negative Behaviors:
+ Reliable, thoughtful, honest, loyal
- Affectionate, a bit childish, ignores people he dislikes, deep distrust towards Zephyrians and other races
~Personality:
Burst is a very calm and focused individual; he takes his training lessons very serious, always making sure to show 100% of gained knowledge and potential that lies within him - sometimes a bit 'too much' in the eyes of his twin brother who 'knows' that he just tries to be a 'show-off' or 'Axel Gear wannabe' which lets them argue from time to time.
He's very gentle and caring towards his brother and their 'foster father' but doesn't talk much around strangers or just flat-out ignores them if there's just a tiny thing that annoys him about them. Yes, he's not very open-hearted towards others and can give some 'deadly glares' due to his sharp-looking eyes and overall mature appearance, and it takes a long while until he shows some of his actual good traits he has.
The red haired opossum isn't really a complicated person but he tends to take certain things a bit personal, causing him to act stubborn which always amuses Core - he's the only one who can make jokes out of everything and making Burst feel better, he's also the only one who makes his twin act rather childish just as much as he is himself. It can be helpful but... not all the time as it gives Axel more of a headache once these two are 'full in their element'.
~Fighting Style:
Burst mostly relies on his ability to build up spontaneous strategies and easy-to-trick movements. Though being a skilled fighter with two swords and a Gun blade he makes more sure to cover his twin brother from taking any damage that could cause him losing concentration of casting a spell - but only if there's a large group of enemies.
In normal circumstances he's mostly the one who uses brutal force within battles. Like Axel is able to shoot laser beams from his sword Burst is able to create a bright light around his swords that widens the range of his attacks - decreasing the strength as usage price. Understandable that this is more or less a 'last resort' special ability for him since he hates to make battles last longer than necessary and relies more on his Gun blade for out-of-reach foes.
Rarely used but actually more his 'main choice' is the combination of his twin blades, making it a double-edged-blade that can be used to reflect projectiles while being able to attack enemies from the front and from behind if they're getting too close to him. It's even more fun using it while having the special ability activated - since he knows that he could hurt Axel or Core without taking proper care of his surroundings he plays it save with his normal twin blades.
~Story:
Burst and Core were born far outside of Zephyrus and had a very normal life. Their parents were farmers and it seemed like that everything was in perfect harmony, they didn't had any enemies or close friends as they mostly stood out of Kingdom Zephyrus - they disliked the politics and Royal Family which was the reason why they moved out of the Kingdom, giving them the freedom they wanted to have.
In deep winter season their life changed when it was revealed that their father was a gambler who owed some people a lot of money. He tried to escape with his wife and sons through a secret passage way he installed within their house as some sort of exit if the house should catch fire but was caught; his wife was able to escape with Burst and Core but got badly injured nonetheless. They never saw their father ever again.
Not knowing where to go to they were wandering around aimlessly till dawn - it was out of question that she would go back to Zephyrus just to know that her children will end up in a house full of other orphans, but maybe it was the safest choice for her sons to survive the hard winter. No, her distrust was too deep and there was no time to turn back, she knew that she wouldn't have enough strength to do so anyway and yet she realized that she was selfish when it came down to her children.
After a few more hours of wandering she finally broke down, she had no energy left to stand up and carry on; she knew she was done for. Regrets came up thinking about the twins; they would die within the cold, no survival instincts because of their young age and not being able to find any food. Sooner or later the harsh winter will freeze them to death - they could have been save in Kingdom Zephyrus at the very end. It was a sign of the Zephyrian Gods for her when a swordsman came across their path, she didn't knew who he was but she could tell that he was an Zephyrian warrior.
Hopes broke when he said that he has no time or interest playing babysitter even though he saw that she was close to death - it wasn't his business and it was her own fault being foolish enough not to go to Zephyrus. He was as cold with his emotions and words as much as the icy wind and the never ending falling snow. It appeared like he had no heart. She didn't accepted his decline, pleaded with tears in her eyes to at least bring them to the entrance of Kingdom Zephyrus so they can be saved and that she realized that she was at fault for this situation. She knew she couldn't reward him at all and the reason behind his decline was the lack of payment, but if he had at least a bit of honor and pity left within his cold heart he would give those two a chance to survive since common sense and helping those in need always beats the wanting of money. Silence occurred until he gave in and promised to bring them to Zephyrus. He hesitated to reveal his name when she asked for it; she didn't want to forget the one who takes care of her sons. It was surprising that she didn't knew who Axel Gear was but it didn't mattered anymore, she took her last breath before she was able to reveal her name to the Black Knight.
Since that day Burst and Core were traveling alongside Axel Gear. Though he promised her to bring them to Zephyrus for safety... he didn't. He couldn't bring them to Zephyrus without getting attacked by Kingdom Zephyrus as well and the young opossums were already in bad shape, nearly traumatized by the loss of their parents. All that was left for him was to take them along or to let them die. They were afraid, not sure what to do or where to go, they didn't knew about any relatives - they only knew that their parents died and that this stranger promised their mother to bring them to a save place which he wasn't doing at all. He wasn't very trustworthy.
The travels were mostly a mess. Curiosity caught the twins way too often; everything the Black Knight planned was slowing down in ease. There was no single minute for him left where he was able to get a job done without fearing those two do something stupid behind his back. It didn't took a few months until he snapped and told them that he will leave them behind if they don't stop giving him more troubles than needed - this was the moment where Burst reminded him about the promise he gave their mother before she died. Could it be? They were about 5 years old and this little brat understood the meaning of a promise between adults? Axel was caught off-guard. He didn't really knew how to react. Maybe the boy just learned to keep promises like every parent would teach their kids, but they didn't knew how harsh reality really was, but it brought back a bit of common sense within the Black Knight and he told them that he can't gain any money for them when they're always causing trouble for him or those that need to take care of them while he's taking care of his job. Interestingly it went smoother for him after he told them that they're just hindering their life rather than doing anything productive with their little tornado-behavior.
5 years later Axel decided to train them to become knights, the times of babysitting were over and he knew that they would have it way more easier to gain money for a living when he gets a little back-up - he was the one who took care of the money and twerps after all so they were able to experience a good childhood before the hard reality hits them right in the face... but even there they gave him harsh times. By that time Burst and Core made even clearer that they're non-identical twins, both tried to be better than the other one by searching for their own ways and techniques. It was more a 'brother vs. brother' rather than a 'brothers vs. anyone else' relationship that was boiling up. Burst wants Core to fight with two swords but Core doesn't care for weapons; he's more interested within magic since its way more fun playing with elements. Burst always wants to be in charge while Core was seemingly amused by his brother's hard effort to look like a 'leader'. Axel knew that it can be a fatal flaw between them once they're old enough to travel together all by their own, the only solution that was left for him was to train them in the ways they wanted to be trained, but he had absolutely no real clue how to teach magic without a spell book.
Years after years were passing by. The Black Knight managed to give both of them some common sense, decreasing his doubts that those two will run into heavy arguments once they'll travel together without the need of his help. While Burst was indeed a talent in usage of twin blades and building up strategies Core showed a lot of passion for magic - just like he always said he had. They took a rest within a hotel in a Kingdom called Düsterschrei, totally populated by bats. Nonetheless this Kingdom was very open-hearted towards strangers; they even allowed other races to live there in peace and harmony. It was the right place for Core to learn everything about magic without fearing they might try to murder them for being opossums but Axel wasn't very pleased with the idea staying in this Kingdom until the green haired opossum was able to control everything he wanted to learn - instead he allowed him to buy some of the books he wanted to have so he can learn while traveling.
The last Kingdom they visited was populated by Panda's that was... interesting to say the least. There Core found his 'ultimate weapon' which is actually a toy for children and even adults which is called 'Kendama'. Both Burst and Axel weren't sure if this is the right thing to use as a weapon, they didn't believed that the ball was heavy enough to break one's skull until the green haired opossum was letting go of this 'toy' only to see a small crack on the floor - which Axel needed to pay for after Core bought his weapon of choice.
Their current position is unknown - they're still traveling around Elhorn.
~Relationship/s:
- Family (Core):
Burst shares an unbreakable bound with his brother. As non-identical twins they often tend to fight about 'this and that', but the older they got the more they started to understand to share everything with each other. Nonetheless there are times they argue with each other due to Core's very optimistic behavior, his careless attitude and sadistic commentaries - something that causes Burst to worry much about him.
- Axel Gear:
The 'foster father', trainer and leader.
Burst shows high respect towards the most well-known Black Knight of Elhorn. Knowing the good and bad qualities of the 'traitor of Kingdom Zephyrus' better than anyone else and knowing the story behind his so called 'betrayal' the red haired opossum understood why the ex-Rocket Knight choose to fight against his own kind. Everyone who tries to tell lies about his leader will be in great trouble, redirecting to the fact that Axel taught them everything they need to know, especially being one of the few lucky ones to call themselves a Rocket Knight or, in his and Core's case, a Black Knight.
Since Axel is more or less a father figure for the twins Burst cares deeply for him - he's very affectionate, sometimes causing him to get very angry when someone's talking bad things about the one that gave him and his brother a second chance in life and it becomes even more worse should Axel get heavily injured.
- Sparkster:
Though they never personally met Burst has a bittersweet taste in his mouth hearing the name of the leader of the Rocket Knights.
Both twins don't really know how to react or how to treat the 'half-brother' of their leader - they don't really have a deep grudge against him like some might think they would since they were raised by the blond opossum's 'nemesis'. Even so they're not allowed to fight against the leader of Rocket Knights should they cross paths with him, they wouldn't stand a chance and it's a personal 'war' between the leader of Black Knights and the leader of Rocket Knights.
