I KNOW this topic's kinda old but I rushed through those two pages now and need to say... cool down.

I might be new here and actually shouldn't bug in into something that totally isn't my piece of cake, but the real problem here is that you guys don't feel like cooperating with each other in one or two points.

Mitsu, though you apologized towards Rapid and Pop you really need to keep your coolness. Insulting people won't help you at all, it'll make things even more worse for you since *you're* the one who plays the "a******" role in that matter. Using the "You don't have a XYZ OC!" line won't do you any good just because Pop brought up something that made your blood boil. Everyone's free to let their thoughts ride. Pointing out that Pop doesn't have an OC = No problem. Insulting him at the end = Big nope. Small things like that can break sympathy pretty easy, no matter if you're acting totally different in Real Life. Users will see the MitsuKoshi that loves to insult people rather than the MitsuKoshi you are in Real Life. Never forget that.

The RP-Plots I've read so far are... meh. Neither good nor bad, but not overthought either.
You see, making Cross-Over RP's are hard to manage and really take a good sense of how to play it, especially when you try to cross two franchises that:
1. Don't share certain elements that could make a good story out of it
2. Not many people know because they (probably) never played it/never had interest in it

Pokémon is a very popular franchise, but it makes no sense playing it when humans aren't involved when you're aiming for the main franchise of it. If you're going into something more Anthropomorphic related, like that the Pokémon are 'the humans', I'd place my bets on a "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon"-styled system or that the Pokémon act like total normal humans a la Rocket Knight/Star Fox/What-do-I-know. The real key is to find a way to place the Rocket Knight characters into this whole Cross-Over. What roles would they play? What are their goals? How'd they look like if physical appearance has to be overworked? That's a lot of things everyone need to think of as well, not just only the plot.

Look, I don't try to be a smartass with all this yackering, but I have a lot of experiences with all kinds of RPs and Cross-Overs aren't really my thing because those I've seen so far ended up in a desaster. I don't want to say they're horrible, but gaining mostly not so good experiences with them I try to stay away from them. If you guys still love to do any kind of Cross-Over, feel free to and don't mind my twisted sight about them.

If it's going to be a RK-related RP there's actually a lot you people can do, it's just a matter as of how you people come along with each other. If there's one thing I totally dislike, it's the 'letting out my anger towards someone within the RP' stuff. Never do this kind of sh*t, otherwise you'll ruin the fun for everyone. It's not only for RK-related RPs, it's for *all* kinds of RPs. I'm sure people know that but I still highlight this issue since sometimes people forget about it nonetheless (if the rage is over 9000).

Let's see. We have a lot of Original/Fan Characters for the Rocket Knights and the Black Knights... or Dark Knights if you people prefer. It *seems* to be possible to play the Official Characters (Sparkster, Axel Gear, King Zephyrus, Princess Sherry, Princess Cherry, probably even Princess Flora, Devligus Devotindos, General Sweinhart, Emperor Gedol, Paerie, Generalissimo Lioness, General Wolfenheim, Emperor Ulfgar, Mifune Sanjulo/Sanjuurou, Sparkster's Wife, Sparkster's Son...), so there's actually a bunch of people that can be played. Fine 'n' dandy so far! Actually you people have good opportunities to start a big RP.

But let me ask you all one question:
What are you aiming for?

Everyone has their own ideas, stories, characters and so on and so on, and it's pretty hard to let those flow into one big RolePlay. It also seems like that some Users don't come along too well with each other and some Users left this place - which is a real shame. Both of those points.

Taking "Rocket Knights: Raise of the Black Knights" from Kohaku as an example. This story is very well overthought and has tons of good ideas. Users wanted to join and sadly it burned down faster than expected. I haven't read all of it now, but from what I saw on the last page and the beginning page... I was very curious about the whole situation between Kaji, his family, Kohaku... the overall plot. It was very well written, even the parts with the two hedgehog brothers and Sparkster's family, but the thing that was killing it for me was the Mr. Saturn thing. It's a downer if characters from a totally different franchise crashes into a plot that focuses on Rocket Knight only, nearly ruining the good readable effort that was done until this certain point.

Look, I don't like to criticize others, especially when I know that certain ideas shouldn't be taking too seriously, but out of all the things that could have happened, it's Mr. Saturn from EarthBound/Mother. It's like there's a damn intense fight going on, someone got blown into pieces and all in a sudden Steve Urcle pops out of nowhere saying "Did I do that?". It's killing a certain atmosphere. That's how I felt when I was reaching the Mr. Saturn appearance.

In fact it's a bit unfair from my side being harsh on this RP though I haven't read all of it, but if there's a Rocket Knight RP going on please, don't throw in random characters from other franchises *exept* the rules of the RP allow it. No matter if you're an newbee or expert in RPs, this doesn't excuse it when the rules say "Rocket Knight-based characters only". I haven't seen any rule so far but I guess it should be clear to everyone that in a Rocket Knight RP there's only Rocket Knight-based characters. Still I wished that "Rise of the Black Knights" will be continued by you guys.

I'm sorry for being harsh on you MitsuKoshi, I apologize at that point and I hope you can forgive me. I don't want to be any offensive to you at all, but I'm pointing out a thing that was quite out of place. I still give credit to Kohaku and Jake that they played along with your Mr. Saturn appearance rather than ignoring it totally. This is what I call good companions. Be proud of them. Also you played great as well considering the little rant about the Mr. Saturn cameo. Just because I didn't liked it doesn't mean you're a bad player

Enough of this long talk. I hope there's still some way to let this Forum be more active again so people can enjoy their RPs. It'll be such a big waste of effort letting this forum die. If this forum is getting a bit more life I'd be happy to RP with you guys since I'm pretty sure that everyone can work on a decent plot for an RP of any kind.

As for your statements. All of this conflict was cleared up via PM and IM. As for the questions about the RP, Basically what I'm looking for is an RP that takes place after the events of Rocket Knight, I would like there to be a major conflict with Rocket Knights and Black Knights, as well as the involvement of other Kingdoms. (I would prefer the Devotindos to be out of the picture, but there can be some pigs here and there and I wouldn't mind.)

Here's how I would like things to work from Character stand point.
- Everyplayer needs to have at least 1 OC, and play a character or two from the series (so everyone can meet the post quota) Seriously if I see 1 sentence long posts in my RP I'll kick the offender(s) out of that rp.
- Everyone will have a role that will be discussed via an OOC thread.
- You can play both good and bad characters.
- Romance is Fine, but keep it PG and in character, don't involve the canon characters like Sparkster. (I'm looking at you Mitsu)

Well it's good to know that the conflicts have been solved since it's not much of fun having a broken down community. I tell you I once was in a forum that had actually a lot of potential but the Users were like... um... how can I put it? Let's stay with immature as hell. They backstabbed each other, they were always fighting about senseless things, some of them tend to let out their bad mood on everyone... I felt like I was in a kindergarden. Worst of all was that the Admin didn't do sh*t about it so the community broke down just after 2 months of existance. That's why I'm kind of... harsh and merciless with behaviours like that, hitting everyone with a paper fan, in harder situations I use a frying pan. And if no one stops I use a bazooka. You'll get the idea.

- About the RP:
Having more than Devotindos Empire, Gedol Empire, the Wolf Kingdom, Kingdom Eginasem and Kingdom Zephyrus might come in handy, yes. There's a lot of stuff that can be placed around the world of Elhorn but sadly we don't have much material in our hands when it comes down to the placements of the kingdoms, though I have the feeling that Zephyrus is in the center while every other kingdom is surrounding it. Not... quite the best location to build up a kingdom but hey who am I to judge. I'm sure there are many continents so they're not having it all too easy to reach Zephyrus.

So we have pigs, reptiles, dogs (?), wolves and opossums. From what I saw you guys also created a Red Panda Kingdom and a few others which I can't come up now, so there's a good chance to reuse the older kingdoms besides Devotindos + introducing a new kingdom (or even more).

First thing to know what series you want to follow: the Main Series or the Spin-Off Series? I guess you want to use the Main Series since it's been continued back in 2010, so I think we can scrap characters like Generalissimo Lioness and General Wolfenheim. Of course if you want to place them into the Main Series it's okay - they haven't been a threat there yet and I'm sure with a bit of hard thinking we as community could think about a reason why they're attacking Zephyrus.

Second thing is to know how many years have been passed by since the last attack of Devotindos Empire. I still feel that 15 years are way too much peace after the fight against Gedol Empire but since it's a canon timeline we can't change anything about it.

Third thing is how big the conflict between the Rocket Knights and Black Knights should be and how much it should affect the overall RP and Character Developments. Nothing can work out of the blue and every character will gain new experiences, making them probably more confident to win the fight or giving them doubts the longer the fight is going on. Though we're just typing the reactions and actions of our characters we also need to take care of small details like character development, something that's actually the most important thing that makes the characters act more 'lively' and 'charming' in their own perspective.

- About the Rules:
They sound good so far but I needed to smirk at the last point. I wouldn't mind seeing some clumsy flirtation towards Sparkster or even Axel Gear just for the giggles as long as players don't take it all too serious or personal when they get rejected. To be honest it wouldn't be easy for me being deadly serious with it, I tend to use clumsy flirtation from time to time just to see the reactions of the player and character that's been played.

Don't get me wrong I'm cool with Canon Couples but I don't even mind Non-Canon Couples, it's all a matter of how good it has been worked out. I hate silly stuff like 'love at first sight', 'forgotten childhood/teenager friend/love' or 'they're together because I want them to be together!' - it feels stiff, uncreative and charmless. For a very long time I was totally against Official x Original Couples because all I could saw were Official x Original Couples for the sake of having a popular character as 'boyfriend/girlfriend' for one's own character. Worst part was that most of those Original Characters were supposed to represent it's owner in a certain style. Things like that can bring up a hate-storm pretty easily and I was one of them that could run amok seeing things like that.

After a while I managed to keep in touch with one artist that really knew how to handle Official x Original Couples. She wasn't even crazy minded about it, she kept it fictional that gave me a bit of a hope. When I was reading a small piece of her FanFiction and the Journal about her female Original Character I was baffled that there are indeed people that do take a lot of care about this kind of thing. She's a friend of mine nowadays and though we don't have a lot of contact due to Real Life I highly respect her. Her problem is that she's afraid of haters due to her Couple, but I told her that she's free to do as she wants to and as long as she keeps up the hard work she's putting into her story she'll be fine.

Working everything out bit by bit before doing anything rash, checking the personality of the Official Character and leave him/her the way he/she is, giving just a bit of character development into him/her so the overall known personality still is intact... a lot of work and effort is coming together there. Though I can't change the opinions of others when it comes down to this topic I started to stop hating Official x Original Couples. There's a sh*tstorm of war going on within every community and in many aspects I can understand it, but I started to give stuff like that a new chance and won't stop people doing Official x Original Couples. I still dislike silly minded Official x Original Couples but I accept well thought Official x Original Couples, I don't want to be a part of the Official x Original Anti-Couple war, it's a waste of time and makes me sick pretty easily since you can't stop people doing the things they like to do.

Long story short:
As long as people have a common sense about Non-Canon Couples I'm totally fine with it. I'm experimenting with things like that by myself since a while now but I'm stuck on so many thoughts that it takes me probably years until a result can be shown.
